The Outer Banks community is coming together for a special cause: supporting Rudy, the beloved Pirate’s Cove security guard who has greeted residents and visitors with a warm smile for years. Now facing a battle with cancer, Rudy needs our help—and what better way to show support than with a plate of Carolina BBQ?

Mark your calendar! On Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 11:30am to 2:00pm, join us for a drive-through barbecue fundraiser at Manteo First Assembly (801 Wingina Ave, Manteo, NC). This community event will directly benefit Rudy’s Cancer Fund, with 100% of proceeds going toward his care.

Cost: $15 per plate
How: Drive-through pickup only
What’s on the Menu?
For just $15 per plate, you’ll enjoy a classic Eastern North Carolina BBQ meal:
- Pulled pork BBQ sandwich
- Baked beans
- Coleslaw
- Chips
- Cookies
It’s a delicious way to give back to someone who has given so much to Pirate’s Cove and the wider Outer Banks community.
